eBike Connect is Bosch’s app for the previous eBike System 2 generation — the platform that powered many excellent Riese & Müller, Cube and partner bikes from roughly 2019 to 2022. If your bike has Gen 4 CX, Intuvia or an older Kiox display and no ConnectModule, Connect is almost certainly the app you need — not Flow.
What eBike Connect does
- Ride recording — log distance, duration, elevation and assistance data
- Strava & fitness sync — export activities to supported platforms on compatible setups
- Navigation — send routes to Nyon or connected Kiox displays where fitted
- Bike settings — adjust available riding modes and display options within manufacturer limits
- Firmware updates — update drive unit and component software via Bluetooth (scope is narrower than smart-system OTA)
- Service information — view odometer-style data useful for workshop visits
What Connect does not do
Connect predates the smart-system ecosystem. You will not get:
- ConnectModule GPS theft alerts or eBike Lock (smart-system + Flow only)
- Deep custom riding modes or Performance Upgrade (Flow features)
- ABS ride statistics in the app (current ABS pairs with Flow on smart-system bikes)
- Range Control navigation with live mode suggestions across the full smart-system feature set
That is not a flaw — System 2 remains a brilliant, serviceable platform. Many riders use Connect lightly for ride logging and rely on the handlebar display day to day.
Pairing eBike Connect
Download eBike Connect (not eBike Flow) from your app store. Your bike needs a compatible Bluetooth module and supported display — not every System 2 build had connectivity factory-fitted.

Buying used System 2?
Connect is a useful way to confirm the system is healthy before you commit — record a test ride, check for error warnings and note firmware version. We offer pre-purchase inspections at e-Bike Barn and can update software, check battery health and advise on remaining service life. When you are ready to move to smart system, a new bike brings Flow, ConnectModule and the latest drive units — but a well-maintained System 2 bike still delivers years of great riding.
