Stepless CVP — what does that mean?
Enviolo hubs use continuously variable planetary (CVP) technology: internally, the ratio changes smoothly across the range rather than jumping between fixed cogs. Twist a manual Enviolo grip and the hub responds under load or at a standstill — no clunk between gears because there are no gears in the traditional sense.
Ratio range depends on the hub model — from compact Urban hubs for town hops, through City and Trekking for longer mixed riding, up to the Utility hub for heavy cargo and high-torque motors (up to 120 Nm and 400% range). Pair with a belt drive and you get a near-silent, low-maintenance drivetrain that suits daily commuters and family cargo bikes alike.

How Enviolo Automatic talks to Bosch systems
On Bosch Smart System e-bikes, Enviolo Automatic is an official eShift partner — the same integrated shifting concept Bosch uses with Rohloff E-14 and other hub systems. The AUTOMATiQ interface connects to the drive unit (typically via the motor’s high-power port) for power and data, then pairs with the smart system so the hub and motor work as one platform.
Cadence from Flow or the display
Set your preferred pedalling cadence in the eBike Flow app or through a connected Bosch display. The hub adjusts ratio to match — sportive or relaxed, without bar-mounted shift levers.
Auto-downshift & RollShift
